SHINE Marketing & Communications - About the Owner, Megan Peterson
As the owner of SHINE Marketing and Communications, Megan Peterson’s mission is to help schools tell their story, spread their message, and SHINE their light through strategic and creative marketing initiatives.
She began her career as a TV reporter/anchor, where she learned the importance of visual storytelling and effective communication. During that time, she won a Regional Emmy for her news story “Helping Hand” in the Children’s category and earned an Emmy nomination for Multimedia Journalist in the Midwest.
Soon after, Megan made a career shift to the marketing and communications field where she worked for more than ten years in both public and private education andΒ at various childrenβs organizationsΒ prior to launching her own business.
Megan has a proven track record of helping independent and faith-based schools increase enrollment andΒ exceed fundraising goals through best-in-class marketing and communications strategies. Megan’s dedication to schools has yielded impressive outcomes, with clients experiencing 5-20+% annual enrollment increases and new student application increases reaching an astonishing +130%.Β
Through strategic media relations support, she has also helped schools gain national coverage with stories landing on The Today Show, Good Morning America, Nightly News with Lester Holt: Kids Edition, People Magazine andΒ The New York Post.Β
In addition to marketing consulting, she is dedicated to educating and inspiring school marketing professionals through best-in-class school marketing courses, offered through her SHINE School Marketing Training Program.
